visit, the FVM-KKU’s administrators led by

lecturer in Department of Anatomy had accompanied the RGU delegates
to visit the Faculty’s laboratories, Animal Teaching Hospital, and
class teaching observations include visited beef cattle and dairy
farm in Khon Kaen area. Besides, there was also discussed about
research and exchanged of student and staff between two institutes.
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University and School
of Veterinary Medicine, Rakuno Gakuen University, Japan had a great
cooperation between institutions for over 3 years, the FVM-KKU has
sent 2 batches of the sixth year student to practice in Cooperative
Veterinary Education Program for a period of 3 months at the School
of Veterinary Medicine, RGU. Finally, FVM-KKU hopes that this time
RGU delegation's visit will strengthen the relationship between the
two institutions.

In the morning session on 17th February,
2017 at 11.00 am. Assoc. Prof.
Dr.Chuchat Kamollerd, Dean of The
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University (FVM-KKU) along
with Faculty’s Executive Board warmly welcomed
Prof.Dr. Toshiyuki Murase
and Prof. Dr.
Hiroichi Ozaki from Department of
Veterinary Microbiology, faculty of Agriculture, Tottori University,
Japan. Meeting was held at 5th Floor, Dean Office, Pichet
Luangthongkam Building, FVM-KKU. This visit focused on academic
collaboration and joint research between the two institutions, in
particularly to facilitate research and staff exchange in the
future. This is the third time Tottori’s delegate visit FVM-KKU.
First delegation visited us in August, 2015 and the latest time was
in March, 2016.
During the visit, the
FVM-KKU’s administrators led by
Asst. Prof. Dr. Kochakorn Direksin,
Associate Dean for Research and International Affairs and
Dr. Patchra Puektet,
lecturer in Department of Pathobiology, had accompanied the
Tottori’s delegates to visit the Faculty’s laboratories, Animal

they also got a chance to visit Swine Processing Plant of Betagro
Agricultural Industry Co., Ltd., Khon Kaen Branch. In the afternoon
session of February 17th, 2017, at the Animal Hospital meeting room,
there was a joint discussion and research collaboration entitled
"Proposal for Collaborative Research "with FVM-KKU lecturers and
graduate students.

During February 19th–22nd, 2017 at National Chung Hsing University,

Asst. Prof.Dr. Ranee Singh,
Assistant Dean for Research and International Affairs as
representatives of FVM-KKU, had attended The
8th JSVR "
(Joint Symposium of Veterinary Research) which organized by National
Chung Hsing University, Taiwan (NCHU).
Moreover, discussing regards to exchange student and staff,
particularly research were the topic that two institutions had
focused on. Besides discussing the collaborative project in various
missions with NCHU staff, FVM-KKU delegate takes this opportunity to
meet with the Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine from many
universities in order to exchange ideas and knowledge regarding
Veterinary Science.
In addition, The Faculty
of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University, and the College of
Veterinary Medicine, National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan, has
been cooperating for student exchange for several years. Students
from both universities come to exchange for short term internships
in a period of 2 weeks - 1 month to enhance skills and experiences
in the veterinary profession. As well as enhancing the experience of

Besides signing ceremony, CVASU’s administration team set up an
extra program for VM-KKU delegates to visit all departments, the
laboratory consists of Poultry Research Training Centre (PRTC),
Teaching Veterinary Hospital, Zonal Poultry Farm, Anatomy and Fish
Museum, etc. VM-KKU delegates are also invited to attend a
prestigious award ceremony in the speech contest in English
organized by International Vet Student Association (IVSA),
Bangladesh. The main purpose for this signing ceremony was aim to
create opportunities and seeking for cooperation in research and co-development
staffs and students. Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences
University is considered one of the leading universities in
Bangladesh, especially in graduate level. Moreover, it was a great
honor to have Prof.Dr. GoutamBuddha Das, the Vice-Chancellor
as chief executive of Universities as a witness for the signing of
this partnership.

was a VM-KKU alumnus, he received 2 years scholarship from USAID-RESPOND
and finished his Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Science (International
Program) in 2014.
VM-KKU expects that the delegate from Hanoi
National University of Agriculture would enhance the teaching
techniques and skills from this visit. This visit was also
consistent with the goals of the university to strengthen more
international collaboration to KKU.

time that delegates from CVASU visited VM-KKU after first batch

attend short course training in Companion Animal as well as Large
Animal clinics during September 1st – 30th,
2016. During the visit, they will have an opportunity to
observe and practice at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, work on a

– 30th, 2016 which under supervision by Teaching Hospital

facilitate research and staff exchange in the future between the two

Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd Dean of
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, KKU as representative of Thailand
SEAOHUN, had attended the seminar progress "SEAOHUN Workshop on
Revisited KPIs and Executive Board Meeting" organized by SEAOHUN (South-East
Asia One Health University Network). SEAOHUN is the organization
that encourages cooperation between Universities in ASEAN to work
together under one health concept. The conference focused on sharing
the vision, mission, projects, activities and included the setting
of key performance indicators for measuring the successful
functioning of One Health operations (people, animals and
environment).At present, there are four countries that have already
established University network to implement the One Health Concept.
The four member countries consist of the Universities in Thailand (THOHUN;
Thailand One Health University Network), Vietnam (VOHUN; Vietnam One
Health University Network), Malaysia (MyOHUN; Malaysia One Health
University Network) and Indonesia (INDOHUN; Indonesia One Health
University Network).

10-13th of January, 2016
Dating back last year, three professors from Faculty of
Agriculture, Tottori University happened to visit our faculty in
2015. They were very much interested in our Veterinary program. So
Tottori University invited us and partially provided financial
support our trip to Japan.Dr.Kochakorn and Dr. Patchara had a chance
to tour around their facilities, attend lecture room, walk through
animal hospital, and discuss with their staff on possibility of co-research
projects.
