Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University welcomed lecturer and students from Rakuno Gakuen University, Japan

 

          In the morning session on 24th February, 2017 at Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd, Dean of The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Khon Kaen University (FVM-KKU) along with Faculty’s administrators warmly welcomed Prof. Dr. Katsuro Hagiwara and 5 veterinary students from School of Veterinary Medicine, Rakuno Gakuen University, Japan (RGU). The visiting period during February 24th – March 3rd, 2017. During the visit, the FVM-KKU’s administrators led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kochakorn Direksin, Associate Dean for Research and International Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ranee Singh, Assistant Dean for Research and International Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Seri Kangair, Associate Dean for Administrative and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prasarn Tangkawattana, lecturer in Department of Anatomy had accompanied the RGU delegates to visit the Faculty’s laboratories, Animal Teaching Hospital, and class teaching observations include visited beef cattle and dairy farm in Khon Kaen area. Besides, there was also discussed about research and exchanged of student and staff between two institutes. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University and School of Veterinary Medicine, Rakuno Gakuen University, Japan had a great cooperation between institutions for over 3 years, the FVM-KKU has sent 2 batches of the sixth year student to practice in Cooperative Veterinary Education Program for a period of 3 months at the School of Veterinary Medicine, RGU. Finally, FVM-KKU hopes that this time RGU delegation's visit will strengthen the relationship between the two institutions.
 

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University warmly welcomed lecturers from Tottori University, Japan

 

          In the morning session on 17th February, 2017 at 11.00 am. Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chuchat Kamollerd, Dean of The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University (FVM-KKU) along with Faculty’s Executive Board warmly welcomed Prof.Dr. Toshiyuki Murase and Prof. Dr. Hiroichi Ozaki from Department of Veterinary Microbiology, faculty of Agriculture, Tottori University, Japan. Meeting was held at 5th Floor, Dean Office, Pichet Luangthongkam Building, FVM-KKU. This visit focused on academic collaboration and joint research between the two institutions, in particularly to facilitate research and staff exchange in the future. This is the third time Tottori’s delegate visit FVM-KKU. First delegation visited us in August, 2015 and the latest time was in March, 2016.
          During the visit, the FVM-KKU’s administrators led by
Asst. Prof. Dr. Kochakorn Direksin, Associate Dean for Research and International Affairs and Dr. Patchra Puektet, lecturer in Department of Pathobiology, had accompanied the Tottori’s delegates to visit the Faculty’s laboratories, Animal Teaching Hospital, and class teaching observations. Furthermore, they also got a chance to visit Swine Processing Plant of Betagro Agricultural Industry Co., Ltd., Khon Kaen Branch. In the afternoon session of February 17th, 2017, at the Animal Hospital meeting room, there was a joint discussion and research collaboration entitled "Proposal for Collaborative Research "with FVM-KKU lecturers and graduate students.
 

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, KKU visit National Chung Hsing University and join The 8th JSVR conference in Taiwan

 

          During February 19th–22nd, 2017 at National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University (FVM-KKU), together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Ranee Singh, Assistant Dean for Research and International Affairs as representatives of FVM-KKU, had attended The 8th JSVR " (Joint Symposium of Veterinary Research) which organized by National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan (NCHU).
Moreover, discussing regards to exchange student and staff, particularly research were the topic that two institutions had focused on. Besides discussing the collaborative project in various missions with NCHU staff, FVM-KKU delegate takes this opportunity to meet with the Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine from many universities in order to exchange ideas and knowledge regarding Veterinary Science.
          In addition, The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University, and the College of Veterinary Medicine, National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan, has been cooperating for student exchange for several years. Students from both universities come to exchange for short term internships in a period of 2 weeks - 1 month to enhance skills and experiences in the veterinary profession. As well as enhancing the experience of living in a foreign country during the term of being the exchange student

 

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University and Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) Chittagong, Bangladesh

 

 

     The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) ceremony between Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University (VM-KKU) and Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) , Bangladesh was held on November 14th-16th , 2016 at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Bangladesh. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd, Dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kochakorn Direksin, Associated Dean for Research and International Affairs, Asst. Prof. Chaiwat Jarassaeng, lecturer in Department of Surgery & Theriogenology and Dr. Sarinya Rerkyusuke lecturer in Department of Veterinary Medicine attended the ceremony.  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd, VM-KKU dean and Prof. Ahasanul Hoque, CVASU dean signed the MOU on Behalf of VM-KKU and CVASU.

     Besides signing ceremony, CVASU’s administration team set up an extra program for VM-KKU delegates to visit all departments, the laboratory consists of Poultry Research Training Centre (PRTC), Teaching Veterinary Hospital, Zonal Poultry Farm, Anatomy and Fish Museum, etc. VM-KKU delegates are also invited to attend a prestigious award ceremony in the speech contest in English organized by International Vet Student Association (IVSA), Bangladesh. The main purpose for this signing ceremony was aim to create opportunities and seeking for cooperation in research and co-development staffs and students.  Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is considered one of the leading universities in Bangladesh, especially in graduate level. Moreover, it was a great honor  to have  Prof.Dr. Goutam Buddha Das, the Vice-Chancellor as chief executive of Universities as a witness for the signing of this partnership.

 

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University welcomed lecturer and student from Nong Lam University, Vietnam

 

On October 6th, 2016, 10.00 am, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd, Dean of the faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University along with the faculty administrations team warmly welcomed Mr. Le Huu Ngoc, lecturer and Miss BUI MY THUY KHANH, the 5th year student from Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Nong Lam University, Vietnam. This exchange program was under the Academic Collaboration Exchange Staff and Student part between Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University and Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Nong Lam University, Vietnam.
               
Mr. Le Huu Ngoc
attends 2 weeks training at VM-KKU Bacteria Laboratory Diagnostic in order to build up and enhanced the diagnose technique during September 5th - 19th, 2016 with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sunpetch Angkittitrakul, lecturer in Department of Veterinary Public Health and Dr. Patchara Puektet, , lecturer in Department of Pathobiology. As Miss BUI MY THUY KHANH, joins the 3 months mini research project with Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirikachorn Tangkawatana, lecturer in Department of Pathobiology during September
1st – December 27th, 2016 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University.

 

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,KKU. welcomed exchange student from Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden.

 

          Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd, Dean of The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University (VM-KKU) together with Faculty’s administrators warmly welcomed Miss Anna Ahlen and Miss Nora Signer, Master Degree students from Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden (SLU). Main purpose of this visit was collecting Blood and Tissue samples from dogs with Pyometra (Uterine Infection) in Khon Kaen area. The data collection contributes to their master thesis in SLU.  The two students join the research with Asst. Prof. Dr. Supranee Jitpean, lecturer in Department of Surgery and Theriogenology during September 1st – October 30th, 2016. This exchange program was under the Academic Collaboration Exchange Staff and Student part between Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden.
 

 

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,KKU. welcomed the alumnus from the Hanoi National University of Agriculture in Vietnam.

 

        Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd, Dean of The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University (VM-KKU) along with Faculty’s Executive Board warmly welcomed Mr. Nguyen Duc Truong, lecturer from the Department of Surgery and Reproduction, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Hanoi National University of Agriculture in Vietnam. This visit was focused on enhanced about teaching technique in the Diagnostic and Surgery in Dogs and Cats with the staffs and lecturers at VM-KKU Teaching Animal Hospital during September 1st -30th, 2016. In addition,Mr. Nguyen Duc Truong was a VM-KKU alumnus, he received 2 years scholarship from USAID-RESPOND and finished his Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Science (International Program) in 2014.
       VM-KKU expects that the delegate from Hanoi National University of Agriculture would enhance the teaching techniques and skills from this visit. This visit was also consistent with the goals of the university to strengthen more international collaboration to KKU.  
 

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, KKU. welcomed Bangladesh students

 

 

 

     On September 1st, 2016, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd, Dean together with Faculty’s administration team and staffs of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University (VM-KKU) warmly welcomed 3 exchange students, Mr. Prabor Deb, Mr. Mominul Islam and Mr. Tridip Das, from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Bangladesh (CVASU). This is the second time that delegates from CVASU visited VM-KKU after first batch visited us in October, 2015. The Bangladesh students are going to attend short course training in Companion Animal as well as Large Animal clinics during September 1st – 30th, 2016.  During the visit, they will have an opportunity to observe and practice at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, work on a field trip and also learn Thai culture.

 

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University welcomed administrators and students from College of Animal Science and Technology, Southwest University, China.

 

 

 

On August 2nd, 2016 led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd, Dean of the faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University together with the faculty administrations team warmly welcomed Dr. Fang Rendong,  Assistant Dean for International together with Dr. Cui Jianhai, Secretary for Post Graduate Teaching Affairs and 6 students from College of Animal Science, Southwest University, China. This visit is a part of staffs and students exchange program under MOU collaboration between the two institutes. In addition, long and short term exchange staffs was discussed. During the visit, SWU delegates had an opportunity to observed the Animal Teaching Hospital and laboratory facilities of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University. The 6 students from SWU will be trained at KKU veterinary Teaching Hospital during August 1sh – 30th, 2016 which under supervision by Teaching Hospital veterinarian.  

 

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon Kaen University warmly welcomed Dean from Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU), Bangladesh

 

 

 

In the morning session on 2nd August, 2016 at 9.00 am, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd, Dean of The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Khon Kaen Unviersity (VM-KKU) along with Faculty’s Executive Board had warmly welcomed Prof. Ahasanul Hoque, Dean of the Faculty Veterinary Medicine, Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU), Bangladesh. This meeting was held at Payakkha room 5th Floor, Pichet Luangthongkam Building, VM-KKU. This visit focused on establishment of academic collaborations and joint research, especially to facilitate research and staff exchange in the future between the two institutions. Besides collaboration discussion, in the afternoon session, at Archanai room, 5th Floor, Pichet Luangthongkam Building, there was a special seminar under topic “Veterinary Education in Bangladesh” by Prof. Hoque. VM-KKU lecturers and both foreign graduate students and short term exchange students were joined this seminar.     

 

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Welcomed exchange students from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia.

 

 

     On May 26th, 2016 at the fifth floor of Pichet Luangthongkham Building, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Khon kaen University (VM-KKU) led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd, Dean along with faculty’s administrators and staffs had warmly welcomed Miss Aulia Atika Mulyandari and Miss Oktaviani Nur Indarwati, 4 th year student from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, to attend 2 weeks internship related to small animal surgery at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, KKU During May 23rd  - June 5th, 2016. Besides training at Veterinary Teaching Hospital, VM-KKU had also provided special schedule for 2 exchange students to visit the King Cobra village at Ban Khok Sa-nga, Nam Phong District, Khon Kaen Province.

On 31st March 2016, at the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, KKU led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kochakorn Direksin, Associate Dean for Research and International Affairs together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Renee Singh, Assistant Dean for Research and International Affairs, VM-KKU had welcomed Professor Dr. Andreas Lopata, Associate Dean for Research from College of Public Health, Medical and Veterinary Sciences, James Cook University, Australia. This visit focused on academic collaboration and joint research between the two institutions, especially to facilitate research and staff exchange in the future.

 

 

VMKKU lecturer joined International Conference in Laos.

 

    During January 24th- 26th, 2016 Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirikachorn Tangkawattana, lecturer in Department of Pathobiology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, KKU had been invited from the Faculty of Agriculture, National University of Laos to attend a Conference on the topic “Laos case study on parasitic food-borne disease in southern part of Laos-approaches and initial challenges using a cross-section approach” at the Institute of Laos-Japanese Institute (Dondok), National University of Laos, Laos PDR.

 

 

 

 

 

VM-KKU lecturer joined international conferences in China

 

    During April 4th- 8th, 2016 Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirikachorn Tangkawattana, lecturer in Department of Pathobiology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, KKU had been invited from the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases Chinese Center For Disease Control and Prevention to attend a conference on the topic "Control and Elimination of Helminth Zoonoses in the Greater Mekhong Subregion" at Hope Hotel Shanghai, people's Republic of China.

 

 

 

 


 

VMKKU lecturer joined international conferences in Japan.

 

During March 29th-31st, 2016 Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bongkot Noppon, lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Public Health, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine had been invited by Higher Education Forum to attend the international conference on the topic “Global Conference and Life Science & Biological Engineering (GLSBE 2016) at Kyoto, Japan. At the conference, Dr. Bongkot presented her research work entitled “Co-resistance and multidrug resistance of E. coli isolated from water at broiler chicken farms in Northeastern Thailand”.

 

 

 



 

Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, KKU joined SEAOHUN meeting in Vietnam.



    During March 28th–30th, 2016 at Hanoi, Vietnam. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchat Kamollerd Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, KKU as representative of Thailand SEAOHUN, had attended the seminar progress "SEAOHUN Workshop on Revisited KPIs and Executive Board Meeting" organized by SEAOHUN (South-East Asia One Health University Network). SEAOHUN is the organization that encourages cooperation between Universities in ASEAN to work together under one health concept. The conference focused on sharing the vision, mission, projects, activities and included the setting of key performance indicators for measuring the successful functioning of One Health operations (people, animals and environment).At present, there are four countries that have already established University network to implement the One Health Concept. The four member countries consist of the Universities in Thailand (THOHUN; Thailand One Health University Network), Vietnam (VOHUN; Vietnam One Health University Network), Malaysia (MyOHUN; Malaysia One Health University Network) and Indonesia (INDOHUN; Indonesia One Health University Network).
 

                                                  Tottori University invited Faculties of Veterinary Medicine, KKU to visit Japan

    Asst. Prof. Dr.Kochakorn Direksin, Associated Dean for Research and International Affairs & Dr. Patchara Phuektes visited Tottori University, Japan on the 10-13th of January, 2016
    Dating back last year, three professors from Faculty of Agriculture, Tottori University happened to visit our faculty in 2015. They were very much interested in our Veterinary program. So Tottori University invited us and partially provided financial support our trip to Japan.Dr.Kochakorn and Dr. Patchara had a chance to tour around their facilities, attend lecture room, walk through animal hospital, and discuss with their staff on possibility of co-research projects.
 1. Meet the Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, Tottori University, Japan. Department of Veterinary medicine is under the faculty of Agriculture.
 2. Discussion and exchange of Research and Veterinary Curriculum standard. Tottori University transformed 4 years to 6 years curriculum.
